Now is the time to act. 

Since 28 May 2026 (EUDAMED) and 1 July 2026 (swissdamed), all new MDR and IVDR products must be registered. Existing products must be fully registered by the end of 2026. Maintain your regulatory product data centrally with the firstbase UDI Connector. Submit data once and share it in a standardized format with UDI databases such as EUDAMED and swissdamed. This supports a consistent “from the source” data flow, follows the once-only principle, and reduces manual duplicate data entry.

Many still work with parallel systems, manual uploads, or additional Excel lists - processes that cost time, compromise data quality, and jeopardize compliance.

Looking ahead

We are currently working intensively on the solution in an MVP phase until the end of the year. A proof of concept was successfully completed in the summer. The first UDI connections for EUDAMED and GUDID will be available from the beginning of 2026. Once activated, the connection to swissdamed will also be implemented. Further connectors - for Australia or China, for example - will follow. This will not only ensure short-term compliance, but also long-term prospects for the future.

Looking ahead

EUDAMED and swissdamed are available and can be connected directly via the firstbase UDI Connector. For AusUDID and GUDID, the required data can already be captured in a structured way in firstbase and prepared for future submissions. By applying the once-only principle, you capture your regulatory product data once and use it multiple times. This creates the foundation for efficient regulatory master data management and reduces the effort required to meet future reporting obligations.
